Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy

1. Purpose

  This policy outlines ASC ELECTRICAL SERVICES LTD commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and throughout our supply chain, particularly in the construction sector where the risk of exploitation may be higher.

2. Scope

 This policy applies to all employees, site workers, subcontractors, labour agencies, suppliers, and other business partners working on behalf of ASC ELECTRICAL SERVICES LTD , including temporary labour and self-employed contractors.

3. Our Commitment

We are committed to:

  • A zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, or human trafficking.
  • Promoting ethical and lawful employment practices across all construction sites and  offices.
  • Complying  with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and taking proactive steps to reduce the  risk of modern slavery in construction-specific contexts.

4. Industry-Specific Risks Services

  The construction industry can be exposed to modern slavery risks, particularly through:

  • Use of  agency and migrant labour
  • Subcontractor tiers with limited transparency
  • Pressured deadlines and tight budgets encouraging poor employment practices

We actively monitor these risks in our project planning and procurement processes.

5. Due Diligence and Supply Chain Controls

  We mitigate risk by:

  • Vetting  new suppliers and subcontractors for ethical compliance and employment  practices.
  • Requiring  suppliers to agree to our Supplier Code of Conduct, which includes  anti-slavery obligations.
  • Auditing  labour providers and subcontractors, especially those operating on      construction sites.
  • Refusing to work with suppliers who do not meet our ethical standards.

6. Training and Awareness

  We provide training to:

  • Site managers, HR, and procurement staff to identify potential signs of modern      slavery.
  • Subcontractors and labour suppliers to ensure they understand and uphold our standards.

Induction processes for all site operatives include a briefing on modern slavery awareness and how to report concerns.

7. Reporting Concerns

 Anyone working on our behalf can confidentially report suspected cases of modern slavery through our internal reporting system or to an independent whistleblowing service.

All reports will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and acted on appropriately.

8. Responsibilities

  • Directors and Senior Managers are accountable for overall policy   implementation and compliance.
  • Site Supervisors and Project Managers are responsible for ensuring this policy  is enforced on-site.
  • All  Employees and Contractors must comply with the policy and report any concerns.

9. Breach of Policy

 Breaches of this policy will be taken seriously and may result in:

  • Termination of contracts with suppliers or subcontractors.
  • Disciplinary action up to and including dismissal for employees.

10. Review and Updates

  • This policy is reviewed annually or in response to legal or industry changes Disciplinary action up to and including dismissal for employees.
